Privacy notice.

1. Who we are

Sky Based Specialists Ltd ("SBS", "we", "us") is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. We are a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16494173. 2. What we collect

When you submit an enquiry through our contact form, we collect the details you provide:

• Your name and, if given, your organisation and phone number
• Your email address
• The service you are interested in, the site or location, your timeline and your project brief
• Technical context: the page the enquiry was sent from and your browser's user-agent string

If you email us directly, we hold the correspondence you send. This website has no user accounts and we do not collect payment details through it.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use enquiry details to respond to you, to prepare quotations you have requested and to keep a record of business enquiries. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in responding to and recording business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)). We do not use your details for marketing without asking you first, and we do not sell personal data.

4. Where it is stored, and who processes it

Enquiries are stored in a database hosted by Supabase in the United Kingdom (London region). Our website and the enquiry endpoint are hosted by Vercel. Both act as our processors under their data processing terms. Access to enquiry data is restricted to SBS.

5. How long we keep it

Enquiry records are kept for up to 24 months from our last contact with you, so we can deal with follow-up enquiries and meet our record-keeping needs, and are then deleted or anonymised. Correspondence connected to a contract is kept for the period required for legal and accounting purposes.

6. Cookies and local storage

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. We use your browser's local storage for two preferences only: your light/dark theme choice and your accessibility settings. These stay on your device, identify nobody, and are not shared with anyone. If we introduce analytics in future, we will update this notice first.

7. Links to other services

Pages on this site link to external services such as what3words (for our entrance location) and GOV.UK. Those services have their own privacy notices, and we are not responsible for their content or data practices.

8. Drone operations and imagery

Our survey and inspection work can incidentally capture personal data, such as images of people or vehicle registrations. We operate in line with the Information Commissioner's Office guidance relevant to drone operations, plan flights to minimise incidental capture, and where agreed will blur or redact incidental personal data in published deliverables. Data protection responsibilities for commissioned work are set out in our Terms and Conditions.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to request access to your personal data, its correction or erasure, restriction of or objection to its processing, and its portability. To exercise any of these, email hello@skybased.co. We will respond within one month.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab) or on 0303 123 1113.

11. Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when our data practices change, and the version and effective date above will change with it.
